Pictures From Elkhart
This is the Holdread farm in Bristol. Dad lived here for a while as a kid and I
have some vivid
memories as well; the outhouse with a Sears catalogue for TP, the truck that
started with a crank,
and watching a tornado on the horizon.
The barn is still there. I remember it being painted with a big
advertisement; Mail Pouch Tobacco I think.
This is the first house that I remember living in. It has been added on to
several times. It had an out-
door toilet and a hand pump. I wonder how old the tree is.
1227 Grant Street. I grew up in this house, Kindergarten through High School. It
looks so small now.
1535 Erwin. I only lived here for a short time after high school.

Lilly Creek. This was my favorite place to play as a kid. The "jungle tree" was
our hang out. We
wrapped a rope around a configurations of branches creating a "joy ride" for
anyone who had the
courage to swing on it.
