Earlier last year,
Doug and Lori went to the Santa Fe Trail Symposium in McPherson Kansas,
where Doug's art work was featured in a National Park Service exhibit

Our vacation started out
with a quick trip down to Santa Fe to deliver Doug's art work to the National
Park Service. It will used for an exhibit at Cottonwood Crossing in Kansas.
We also saw an exhibit featuring his work at Museum Hill.
Then we headed across Oklahoma with Lori reading out loud from the book,

It prepared us nicely for our visit to the Washita Battle field where the peace-chief Black Kettle died at the hands of George Armstrong Custer. From there we drove to Watonga and stayed at the Noble House.

Then it was on to Eureka
Springs for some shopping and a night at Genny Jane's B&B.
From there we went to Arrow Rock and stayed at the Borgman B&B
and saw the Historic Arrow Rock Inn...

Next stop was Independence Missouri where we saw some more of Doug's art work at the Bingham-Waggoner Mansion.

And some more in Kansas City at Hart Grove Park and at the Santa Fe Trail Center in Larned.
We stayed at the Cottage House B&B in Council Grove.
This was a very good trip!
